A new waste disposal site for Saint-Laurent-du-Maroni
Since December 3, 2024, Saint-Laurent-du-Maroni has had a new infrastructure dedicated to waste management: the Colibri inter-municipal waste collection center . Located on the Colibri eco-park site, on the Paul Isnard road, it offers a modern and practical solution for sorting, recycling, and recovering value from waste. This facility meets the continuously growing needs of residents.
Schedules designed for all users
The waste disposal site is open from Monday to Saturday , from 7:30 am to 17:30 pm . Thanks to these extended hours, residents can drop off their waste outside of their working hours, which facilitates access and encourages regular use.
A project supported by the CCOG and Europe
The Western Guyana Intermunicipal Authority (CCOG) financed this project with the support of European funds . Together, they are aiming for three priority objectives:

On-site, trained agents accompany visitors. They explain sorting instructions and ensure the site is running smoothly.

To ensure efficient sorting, the recycling center includes clearly marked areas and specific containers. Dumpsters are available to accommodate items that are too large for regular collection.
