Pays des Écrins mobile waste collection center: calendar and practical information

The mobile waste collection centre in the Pays des Écrins has been in operation since 2025. It is a first in the department and responds to a strong demand from residents who want easier access to waste sorting and collection services.

This innovative system, funded with support from the South Region and the French government, operates like a traditional recycling center, but on a smaller scale. Installed on a truck, it travels to several municipalities, allowing users to avoid long journeys to the inter-municipal recycling center in L'Argentière-la-Bessée.

What waste is accepted?

Residents can deposit different types of waste in the mobile recycling center:

  • Wood (chests of drawers, chairs, shelves)

  • Multi-material furniture (mattresses, armchairs)

  • Small household appliances (microwaves, radios)

  • Large household appliances (refrigerators, ovens)

  • Small plastics and metals (pipes, pans, taps)

  • Batteries, batteries, bulbs

  • Small items that cannot be recycled (plastic films, various objects)

However, rubble , construction waste , and commercial waste are not accepted. The service is strictly reserved for private individuals.

Specific collections according to the seasons

To meet the needs of residents, the mobile waste collection service also organizes seasonal collections, particularly for green waste . These are scheduled several times a year, especially in the spring and summer.

Schedule and places of passage

Following a successful trial phase in Saint-Martin-de-Queyrières in June, the tour is officially launched. It runs every year from April 1st to October 31st and serves several municipalities:

  • Saint-Martin-de-Queyrières: former waste disposal site

  • Vallouise-Pelvoux: Pelvoux resort parking

  • Freissinières: the Bellons

  • La Roche-de-Rame: municipal technical center

  • Champcella: Sourillon crossing (sorting point)

  • Puy Saint Vincent: Eyssalette parking lot (next to the school)

  • Les Vigneaux: platform above the carpooling area

Bulky waste collection

In addition, a door-to-door collection of bulky waste is organized twice a year by the La Miraille recycling center: once in the spring and once in the fall. This service effectively complements the work of the mobile waste collection center.
