Published on October 28, the article highlights a brand new professional waste disposal center that has just opened in Morin, south of Basse-Terre.
Implemented by SGSGM Environnement, this new infrastructure represents a major step forward for professional waste management in Guadeloupe.

A local and efficient solution for businesses

Until now, businesses, artisans and communities in southern Basse-Terre had to travel to Baie-Mahault to dispose of their waste.
With the opening of the Morin recycling center, they now benefit from a local structure that meets the most demanding environmental standards.

This facility is capable of accommodating all types of waste, with the exception of household waste and hazardous materials.
Its objective: to simplify the management of professional waste while reducing the carbon footprint linked to travel.

A project focused on sustainable development and the circular economy

The Morin waste disposal center can process up to 300 tons of waste per day, in compliance with the most recent environmental standards.
This project is fully in line with the regional strategy for sustainable development and the circular economy, by encouraging economic players to adopt better sorting and recovery practices.

The initiative aims to strengthen the structuring of the waste sector in Guadeloupe, while supporting the ecological transition of the territory.

A bold investment supported by the Guadeloupe Region

This large-scale project was led by the Baboulall family, who already manage the Jarry professional waste disposal site.
With an investment of more than one million euros, this family of local entrepreneurs demonstrates its commitment to sustainability and territorial development.

The total cost of the project, estimated at 3 million euros, was co-financed by the Guadeloupe Region, the State and the European Union.
An exemplary collaboration between public and private actors, serving the ecological transition in Guadeloupe.

Gillard equipment installed: performance and reliability serving the environment

To equip this new infrastructure, SGSGM Environnement trusted Gillard SAS to supply the compaction and collection equipment.
The installation includes ORK compactors and Series 6 skips.
