The sixth new-generation waste disposal center in Grenoble Alpes Métropole
The new waste collection center in Varces-Allières-et-Risset, inaugurated by Grenoble Alpes Métropole, marks a new stage in the development of infrastructure dedicated to sorting, recycling, and reuse. More modern, more functional, and designed to meet current environmental challenges, it offers users an optimized sorting area and new services. The Varces waste collection center is the sixth of Grenoble Alpes Métropole's new-generation waste collection centers.
GILLARD is proud to have contributed to the development of this waste disposal center by providing several collection solutions tailored to the site's needs. The collection solutions developed by GILLARD contribute to the smooth operation of this next-generation facility.
The waste disposal site is being equipped with loading, lifting, and high dock guardrail systems.
The KOUROU , developed by GILLARD , is an innovative system combining loading, lifting, and a high dock guardrail. For the Varces-Allières-et-Risset waste disposal center, GILLARD installed two extended versions of the system to meet the site's specific requirements. This version offers greater depth than the standard model, allowing for more waste to be handled and facilitating its management.
Versatile, the KOUROU is particularly well-suited for collecting a wide range of waste streams, including green waste, rubble, cardboard, wood, and scrap metal. With a loading capacity of 2 to 3 m³ per cycle and a maximum payload of 800 kg, it helps optimize waste disposal operations and reduce the number of emptying trips required.
Designed to accommodate bulky waste, it can handle items up to 5 meters long and 2 meters wide. The system adapts to different dock configurations, with a height difference of between -500 mm and +750 mm between the skip's side panel and the ground, thus ensuring simple and efficient use for both staff and users.
