Before the end of 2026, a new, ground-level waste collection center will be built in Sully-sur-Loire. Modern and adaptable, this new facility will be constructed by Sictom on a 17,000 m² site. Construction will last approximately six months.
The flat-site waste disposal site: an alternative to dockside waste disposal sites
The flat-level waste disposal site, also known as the "next-generation waste disposal site," will usher in a new era for the residents of Sully-sur-Loire. Flat-level waste disposal sites are specifically designed to simplify waste management by eliminating the need to build an elevated loading dock.
This excellent project, by prioritizing the use of loaders/forklifts with a few bucket compactors, will offer a new concept for a ground-level waste disposal site. Users will be able to dispose of their waste directly on the ground, providing optimized and safe ergonomics, all while minimizing civil engineering work and thus guaranteeing significant investment savings. This solution promises a bright future!
“We will be very vigilant about sorting,” warns the president of Sictom, “this will help minimize costs. Sorting means saving on the waste collection fee. Currently, sorting errors are costing more and more, between €800.000 and €1 million for waste collection centers and yellow bins combined.”
A long-term choice
The 17,000 m² site will soon house eight sorting bins for various materials: wood, green waste, furniture, metals, incinerable waste, cardboard, rubble, and electrical and electronic equipment. This will provide a total capacity of 580 m³ of waste, with the possibility of future expansion. The Sully-sur-Loire waste disposal center has been designed to be adaptable to evolving needs and to last for more than 30 years.
This future waste disposal site will notably feature HULK 2 systems, loading systems specifically designed for flat waste disposal sites.

The HULK 2 is a loading system that allows for safe ground loading and accommodates many types of waste in removable skips of 15 to 35m³.
